Because when the digital apocalypse hits, that paper backup might be your saving grace! Pro tip: encrypt those external drives, unless you want everyone knowing your business!
Here's where it gets sci-fi cool - Faraday protection! Got some fancy foil bags for the essential electronics (phones, tablets, small radios), plus building a DIY Faraday cage that looks like a disco ball made love to a trash can. Because when the EMPs start flying, your backup kindle better be ready!
Offline navigation skills? On it! Because when GPS goes dark, that paper map and compass will make you look like a genius! Been practicing old-school navigation skills, because "recalculating route" won't help you during a grid-down situation! While The Walking Dead was huge I used the zombie apocalypse coming to teach my kids how to use paper maps – it took them years to twig what I was doing.
